Born in the heart of the industrial era in New York under the name Swan & Finch, the brand moved to France in 1932 and took the name Motul for good. But it was really in the 1950s that the story changed: by developing the first semi-synthetic engine oils, Motul revolutionised the world of car and motorbike lubrication.
In 1966, the brand became a legend with the launch of Century 2100, the world's first 100% synthetic engine oil for production vehicles. This major innovation propelled Motul onto international circuits, where the brand quickly equipped the biggest names in competition.
