The origins of the project
Season 1 was just the beginning
We started from scratch in 2025 with a mad idea: to take a raw talent, give him a car and a full season in the French Drift Championship. Nobody really believed it would work. We did it anyway.
Season 1 delivered on its promise. Spotted via the Drift Series, Salim Karrouache had a standout rookie season in the French Drift Championship. Consistent, fast and determined: he clinched the Rookie Challenge title even before the final round. Proof that the programme works, and that the standard we demand of our selected drivers isn’t just talk.
The visibility generated by the Shiftech Drift Series has exceeded all our expectations: packed events, national media coverage, and a community of enthusiasts who followed every event closely. This proves that the format works, that the concept strikes a chord, and that Shiftech has earned its place amongst the leading players.

Season 2 is kicking off on the same basis: no need for a sponsor, no need for a big name. What you need is talent, daring and the desire to compete against the best. If you’ve got that, the door is open.

Drift Series
Physical tests
This year, the qualifying rounds will take place exclusively on tarmac. A series of weekends organised on iconic circuits across France will see you behind the wheel of genuine drift cars prepared by Torque Drift School. The format is the same for everyone: the same cars, the same circuits, the same conditions. It’s your driving skills alone that make the difference. A panel of judges comprising leading figures from the French and European drifting scenes will assess each run.
Drift Series – Season 2
New for Season 2: A direct place in the final
On 21 and 22 November 2026, Shiftech will be taking part in Radar 27, the official CFD talent-spotting track day organised by the FFSA at the Val d’Argenton circuit. You’ll be bringing your own car. A predefined route, mandatory passing zones, and a panel of judges scoring each run. From among all the participants on the day, the driver selected by Shiftech will secure a direct place for the final weekend, without having to go through the qualifying rounds. This is the fast track, reserved for those who already have a car and the skill level to prove it.
Drift Series – Season 2
The Grand Final
This is the final event, the one where everything is at stake. The top talents selected during the track days go head-to-head on a benchmark circuit in a purely technical challenge. The competition is completely fair: all finalists take the wheel of the same cars for a timed run judged by an official FFSA panel. A warm-up to find their rhythm, a run to win. At the end of this decisive run, the winner walks away with a seat as an official Team Shiftech driver, a car built to win and a fully funded season to take on the CFD elite.

Onwards to the 2027 CFD season
As the only official competition recognised by the FFSA, it brings together the elite of drivers on France’s finest circuits, in front of packed grandstands. High-speed wheel-to-wheel battles, constant pressure, and reputations made in a matter of seconds. It is there, amongst the very best, that your place awaits you.

Drift Series – Season 2
The Smoke Machine
Salim’s BMW E90 has done it all this season. It’s weathered the races, survived mechanical issues, and continued to dominate the podium race after race. Thanks to Shiftech, Brothers Custom and the technical teams at the rounds who built, prepared, set up and repaired it. The result is a battle-ready car built for the top of the standings.
