Bosch MD1CS014 and MD1CS064: Audi A4 45 TDI with +129 ch – Audi’s V6 TDI finally unleashed
The Bosch MD1CS014 and Bosch MD1CS064 ECUshave just been unlocked. This is a major update: dozens of Audi models fitted with the 3.0 V6 TDI engine – which until now had been impossible to remap – are now available at Shiftech.
What does this mean in practice? An A4 45 TDI with a standard 231 ch output now delivers 360 ch and 730 Nm in Stage 1. Same engine, same parts. Just a map that is no longer restricted.
This is the most eagerly awaited performance upgrade for the Audi diesel range in several years.

The 3.0 V6 TDI engine
The Audi Group’s 3.0 V6 TDI is one of the most versatile diesel engines ever produced. It powers an A4 45 TDI with 231 ch, an SQ5 with 347 ch and an S6 with 349 ch – sometimes using the same base engine, with different mapping depending on the model’s market positioning.
What this means in terms of remapping is that the lower the original specification, the greater the margin for improvement. An A4 45 TDI shares its architecture with much more powerful models in the range. It is not limited by its mechanics, but by its mapping.
At Shiftech, we’re working on this mapping. And the figures from the test bench leave no room for doubt.

Performance gains vary depending on the exact ECU version and power variant. Every service at Shiftech begins with a full diagnostic check and a dynamometer test; the actual figures for your vehicle will be provided to you before any work is confirmed.
Why has this calculator been locked until now?
The MD1CS014 and MD1CS064 belong to the generation of Bosch control units designed for premium diesel engines. Enhanced software protections had previously blocked access to a large proportion of the vehicle fleet.
At Shiftech, this restriction has now been lifted thanks to a two-step procedure:
-
Remote unlocking (Unlock, from €450): your ECU is sent to us to remove the manufacturer’s software protection. This step is carried out only once per ECU.
-
Bench reprogramming at Shiftech: once unlocked, our technicians directly modify the mapping on a dynamometer. The original mapping is backed up before any changes are made. You can revert to the original settings at any time within five years of your visit to Shiftech.
