Fit tinted windows
Why tint your car windows?
Tinted windows are no longer just a cosmetic feature. They provide genuine protection for you, your passengers and your car’s interior.
Maximum sun protection. Our sun protection films blockup to 99 per cent of harmfulUV rays. Prolonged exposure to UV rays without protection accelerates the ageing of seats, the dashboard and interior plastics. It also poses a risk to skin health during long journeys, particularly for children and regular passengers.
Reduced heat in the passenger compartment. By filteringout the sun’s infrared rays, the window film maintains a more comfortable temperature inside the vehicle, even in hot weather. Less use of air conditioning means lower fuel consumption.
Burglary protection. Our films mechanically reinforce the glass and significantly delay glass breakage in the event of an attempted break-in. In the event of an accident, the film holds the shards in place and protects occupants from flying glass.
Privacy and visual comfort. Tinted windows reduce glare from the sun and headlights, improve overall visibility and shield the interior from prying eyes.

Our colours
The colours available at our Paris East and Paris West centres
We offer several tint levels suited to every use and every window position, expressed as VLT (Visible Light Transmission):
Legal tint for front windows (minimum 70% VLT). In accordance with Decree No. 2016-448, the driver’s and passenger’s front windows must allow at least 70% of visible light to pass through. We offer an approved tint specifically designed for front windows, which provides a slight reduction in glare whilst remaining 100% compliant with regulations.
Rear side and rear window tints. For the rear side windows and rearwindow, there is no TLV limit. You can choose a darker tint to suit your preferences: a light tint for a subtle effect, a medium tint for a good balance between style and visibility, or a dark tint for maximum privacy and optimal heat protection.
Our technicians will advise you on the most suitable tint level for your vehicle and your needs when you arrive at the centre. To find out everything you need to know about the regulations, authorised percentages and special cases (exemptions, manufacturer-fitted windows), please consult our comprehensive guide to tinted windows.

MOT test
Tinted windows and MOT in Paris
This is one of the first questions our customers ask: do tinted windows pass the roadworthiness test?
Yes, provided that the front windows comply with the Visible Light Transmission (VLT) standard set at a minimum of 70 per cent by Decree No. 2016-448 of 13 April 2016. The roadworthiness test centre checks the transparency of the front windows using a tint meter. If the transmission rate is insufficient, the vehicle may be required to return for a follow-up test.
At Shiftech Paris, all our installations are guaranteed to comply with roadworthiness testing requirements. We only use approved films and never apply non-compliant tinting to the front windows without explicitly informing you. Rear windows are not subject to this VLT requirement.
